Welcome to Move-A-Day BJJ!
If BJJ is a meal, and classroom instruction is your main course, this book is a multivitamin.
What is Move-A-Day BJJ?
Move-A-Day BJJ is a book that is dedicated to providing supplemental information on the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). A new technique or drill is covered for each day of the year. That’s 365 straight days of material! Some days cover positions; other days cover transitions between positions, and some days cover submissions. The literature follows a structured process, covering stretches and fundamentals to start. “Helpful Hints” and “Tactical Tips” are provided to help you along the way. By the time the reader reaches the final page, he or she will be well into some advanced techniques and will have a greater understanding of the primary elements in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: positions, transitions, and submissions.
Should I purchase this book?
If you are a martial arts enthusiast, if you train in BJJ, if you want to train in BJJ, or if you know somebody who trains in BJJ, then this book can be a helpful reference. Put it on your desk; put it in the kitchen, or put it somewhere that it will be seen each day. Better yet, take it with you and study a Move-A-Day! Even when you’re not in the gym, you can learn and review. Your art will grow. If you want to improve when you’re not on the mat, this book provides you with an opportunity to do so.
What makes Move-A-Day BJJ different from other books about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
There are several great books available on this topic that offer extensive instruction. This particular book is unique because it presents the reader with a bare bones approach. A new “move” is presented, in a shorthand fashion, for each calendar day of the year. Its purpose is best realized as a supplement, secondary to the classroom environment. To extrapolate on an old analogy, the material doesn’t give you the proverbial fish. Rather, the book is designed to guide you, day-by-day, in your experience of learning how to fish.
If BJJ is a meal, and your classroom instruction is the main course, this book is a multivitamin.
